~the My Sweet Savannah front door package~

Hi friends!
I have to say, I get so excited for fall decorating posts. I am like a little kid in a candy shop when it comes to holiday decorating. Not only do I like to do it, but I love to see how other people decorate as well. Fall is truly my favorite season. I love autumn sunsets and watching leaves fall on the ground. I love being cozy with my family and dogs inside when the weather outside is blustery and rainy.

I look for every opportunity to make our home an inviting place that makes people feel welcome when they come over.

This post is extra special for me because I have some exciting news to share. I recently partnered with our local {and my favorite} nursery, Molbaks. If you live in or around the Seattle area, you will know what Molbaks is. But for those of you that don't, check out my post here for more details.
It's basically the most fabulous place to shop for anything from plants to home decor, and it even has a fabulous cafe inside.

I worked with Molbaks and we came up with a perfect "front door package" to offer to customers who want to take the guesswork out of front porch decor.

It was a really fun process and I am proud to say that what you see below is the My Sweet Savannah package!

Eek!
 Isn't it cute?
I am in love with these French inspired planters. They were definitely the jumping off point for the design.

Once these were in I realized how out of scale my topiaries were. These trees are the perfect height and will last through all the seasons. I love how wispy they are. They are starting to turn red which will be so pretty around the upcoming holidays.

The mums and heuchera are the perfect addition to balance this out.

When purchasing holiday decor I like to get classic pieces that  I can use year after year.
These pumpkins are the perfect muted orange color and I can think of so many places to use them other than the entry.

I chose this doormat because it is simple and it will go with so many different aesthetics.
The chalkboard is so fun because it can be customized with anything for any occasion. Again, you could even use it inside.

What do you think? It's simple, it's classy, and it's something that would look good with so many different house styles.

If you live in the area, head on down to Molbaks to see it in person, I would appreciate the support and feedback!

You can also buy the My Sweet Savannah package online and have it delivered right to your door!

~family room with pops of orange for fall~

I wanted to show you how easy it is to change the look of a room dramatically by simply adding one color.
I shared our family room here in our home tour recently and as you can see by the picture below, I decorated it very simply and with not a lot of color.

Now, let's take a look at the same room with bright pops of oranges for fall!
I happen to love orange so it was kind of a no brainer when it came to adding color in here.
All I did was switch up the pillows, add some orange books to the shelves, and a simple orange tray.

On the coffee table I added another stack of orange books with a glass pumpkin in orange, cream, and gold.

You don't have to spend a ton of money when changing your color scheme. It can be as simple as adding little accessories in your color scheme like these matches.

Adding contrast with the black and white pillows helps things from looking too boring.
You can find the buffalo check one here and the striped one {similar} here.
The orange pillows are Ralph Lauren from here.

Thanks for following along as I change up my decor over and over and over again, ha ha.
Now let's take a look at some more gorgeous designs by clicking on the links below. For other sources not mentioned in this post, you can click on my home tour here.

~zucchini fritters~

With the addition of bacon, these zucchini fritters taste amazing!

I found the recipe here while searching for whole 30 approved zucchini recipes. Even my picky, non vegetable loving husband loved these.
The only thing I don't love about cooking bacon is that my whole house smells like it for a good chunk of the day. Does anyone have any solutions for this?

I served them with whole 30 compliant mayonnaise and dijon mustard.
These would make a great appetizer or served with your meal.

~cozy up with dessert & hot cocoa~

The weather has definitely started changing. The nights are getting shorter and it's time to hunker down inside.
I recently had some girlfriends over for hot chocolate and dessert. Nothing says cozy to me more than warm fall drinks and pie.

I took a cue from my friend Jenny and wrapped my mini pies in flannel strips.
I bought a size 3XLT flannel shirt at Walmart in the mens section and ripped it into strips. And here's a little secret. These are the pies. Shhhh, don't tell my mom I didn't bake them all. Forks can be found here. The whole shebang is super inexpensive, but doesn't look like it right?
It added a bit of fall color to the otherwise neutral table setting and is super easy to do.

I wanted something special and "earthy" for my dishes, so I took a trip down to my favorite nursery, Molbaks. Besides a plethora of plants, the store also has many great home decor items, kitchen items, and much more.

I remember going to Molbaks as a kid. It was always a special treat, especially during the holidays. Their displays are over the top gorgeous and it's just one of those feel good places.
If you live anywhere near the Seattle area, do yourself a favor and take the time to walk around Molbaks in Woodinville. You will be happy you did.
Recently Molbaks created "The Wedge" a store within a store really. It is a specially curated collection of items with fast turning stock and some locally made products. On September 22nd they are officially celebrating the opening of The Wedge at the Local Roots festival.

The Wedge at Molbaks is actually where I found everything for my table!
I couldn't be happier with my purchases, they were just what I was looking for.

It was so good that I took some pictures during my shopping trip there.

Now back to the table set up.
I chose these really thick ceramic plates and mugs.

The plates have a unique shape which make them a perfect fit for the rectangular galvanized trays.
Each friend got a cup of hot cocoa with extra marshmallows.
And instead of doing the ordinary place cards, I used these little chalkboard tents to write little messages on.

A large round galvanized tray holds the desserts on a layer of Spanish moss.

Is this turkey not the cutest?
The perfect place to hold a trio of candles.
These candles by the way are fabulous.
They are unique in that they never melt down or drip wax. They last FOREVER. Heck yes!
These Lucid candles get filled with the highest grade liquid paraffin. They burn just like a real candle and when they get low, you simply refill.

I actually might recreate this entire look for Thanksgiving this year.
What do you think?
Don't you just love one stop shopping?
I can't wait to show you another project I am working on with Molbaks, but for now, click on the amazing links of my friends below to see more inspiration for fall!

~Friday favorites~

First of all, I am so excited because I am leaving today for Ojai to go to Patina Farm!!
Follow me along on my instagram stories all weekend as I meet up with bloggers, eat, drink, shop and see the most gorgeous house and property in California!

Ok, in other news, Cody got a new desk lamp.
Not as exciting as Ojai, but with his new closet, {see yesterdays post} I felt like sprucing up his room a bit more.
It's cordless and and it's just what we needed with all his 500 tv and x box cords happening hiding behind that desk!
More doormat obsession with this one.
I am so ready for fall!

My go to brand for affordable clothing is right here.

Would it be weird if I bought this shirt and told everyone my kids got it for me?

Have I told you about this stuff yet? If I haven't, you need to hit the "add to cart" button NOW.

Everyone needs a pair of these boots for fall. Don't even look at the price tag, they will last you for life.

Ok friends, that's all I got for ya!
Have a great weekend.

~transitioning to fall home tour~

Thank you for joining me in my friend Marty's fall home tour series!
There is 30 homes in this group, so if you don't find fall inspiration on these posts, I don't know where you will! There is something for every style.

Welcome for those of you coming from Haneens Haven
Isn't her home beautiful?

Fall is actually my favorite season.
But before I rush into skeletons and tombstones, I like to decorate with neutrals using natural elements like succulents, white pumpkins, and natural woods.

Shall we dive right in with our kitchen?
I kept things within the black and white color scheme, simply because those are my favorite colors to work with. I've added in wood tones for warmth and metal pieces for an industrial vibe.

I don't like a lot of clutter on the counters, so I opted for a couple white platters/trays on the island with a ceramic pear, white beads, a white candle, and some succulents I planted in a marble container.

Our coffee station pretty much stayed the same with the addition of a little black leather pumpkin.

Under the coffee station is the microwave and a place to store cookbooks.

I picked up this "blessed" wreath at HomeGoods and spray painted it white top pop against the chalkboard door.

Thankfully it's still been warm enough to leave the top on our dutch door open.

Moving onto the dining room!
This room has tall vaulted ceilings and gets a ton of light.
I love the play of modern and rustic in here with the mix of rough woods, metal, and sleek white lacquered cabinets.

The sideboard was really fun to style with simple items I had on hand, and a few pumpkins and cabbage from a quick trip to the grocery store.
This proves you don't have to spend a ton of money for seasonal decor.

Extra plates in one basket and a makeshift "bar" in the other.

The simple centerpiece is simply a a clear jar filled with mini pumpkins.

And for our final stop on the tour, the family room.

This is our main hang out space as we don't have a separate living room.
It opens up onto our deck and overlooks the lake. It has high vaulted ceilings as well and is open to the dining room.

One way I like to make things cozier is by layering rugs. I went tone on tone with the textured rug and the cream cowhide. It just adds that extra layer to make things feel cozier for fall and winter.

One fall pillow mixed in with our everyday pillows is all the couch needed.

I styled the shelves with more black and white and some wood pieces, as well as metal accents.

The gallery wall is made up of vintage photos from our neighborhood and framed in Ikea Ribba frames.

Books are my favorite accessory to decorate with. I normally have books in here with colorful bindings, but swapped those out with more neutral ones.
I always look at thrift stores and eBay for books, as well as amazon.

I love the contrast of the metal here with the wood beads.

Restoration Hardware catalogs make great free decor accessories!
