~our rustic modern neutral fall family room~

Fall decorating does not always have to be orange and black and yellow.
It can be neutral and still have a cozy warmth to it.

In our family/living room I've tried to create a cozy space while keeping things simple and neutral.
Let's start with our new couch!
While I loved our old couch, the cover was starting to tear and the cushions were showing their age. We are planning on saving up to get our dream couch, but in the meantime got this one for a couple reasons.

I wanted to try something darker in this room, jus to change things up a bit.
This sectional was super inexpensive, so I knew even if I didn't like it, I wasn't out a ton of money.

And I do like it! Is it our forever couch? Probably not. After living with it for a couple months I realize with 2 yellow labs, the color choice was not the best. Even though the dogs don't go on it, it still collects everything. So I am off to search for a cream couch once again.

Once the new couch was in, I realized our old coffee table was the wrong shape and way too high.
So after searching high and low with no luck, I made a new one, and I will show you how I did that-tomorrow.

I kept my white linen Ikea pillows and added this Sugarboo Designs pillow, along with a few neutral shams.

The books add a bit of color to the otherwise neutral space.

This pumpkin is so big that it reminded me of a pillow, so I added it to the couch and I love the whimsical look of it.

In the corner I added a few more pumpkins on a pile of books behind our new leather chair.
Floor lamp can be found here.

When the weather is still changing from summer to fall, I like to leave the doors open to get fresh air in the house. I used my concrete spheres that I made and by simply placing
felt furniture pads on the bottom of them, they become great door stops.

I kept things neutral on the coffee table too.
I ordered this vase for our dining room but thought it was so perfect here with some limelight hydrangeas in it.
A stack of neutral books with one of my favorite candles,  and some heart prayer beads that I just got. You guys, if you have ever thought about decorating with these, they are gorgeous! Way bigger than I thought. {80" long!}
They really make an impact.
Through the end of September you can use promo code:

My lamps on console table are on sale here.

I decided to layer one of my white cowhides on top of this new rug.
I hope you enjoyed the little glimpse into our family room!
