This project is so fun!
I found these old tennis racket frames at a thrift store and thought they'd make for a great project.
I decided to turn them into chalkboards that could hang on your wall, or rest on a shelf.
If you don't have access to any frames, you can find a bunch on Etsy here.
They usually go for around $10 each.
Start with your empty frames:
Trace the inside of each frame onto a piece of paper:
Add 1/4"
so they won't fall right through the frame:
Cut out your papers. These will act as a template for cutting out your wood:
Trace them onto wood and cut out with a jigsaw or chop saw.
Paint with chalkboard paint and let dry:
Sand them lightly for a distressed look:
Sandwich the wood between the frames & tighten any screws to hold in place:
Attach no nail sawtooth hangers to the backside:
Using chalk, write your message or draw your picture:
I love the old wording:
Side view.
Make sure to paint the sides and the back with chalkboard paint as well, as it shows.
Happy creating!
xoxo
