It took about 3 days to adjust back to our time zone, but now that I am fully rested, I thought I'd share a few photos and highlights of our trip to Europe!
This was a mother/daughter trip for some high school senior friends and their parents.
It was so much fun, I am still trying to comprehend it all.
We started out our trip in London.
This was my first time on a big trip like this and I was in awe of all the architecture and the beautiful surroundings.
Next we went to Paris. Best crepes ever.
We visited the Notre Dame Cathedral and saw the Eiffel Tower.
We toured the Louvre Museum where I got to see the Mona Lisa which was amazing for me.
Savannah and I stumbled upon a "fair" one night and rode the ferris wheel looking out over Paris.
It was magical, a moment I'll never forget.
Next stop was Zurich Switzerland.
Amazing food and scenery.
We quickly went on to Lucerne Switzerland where we stayed in the most idealistic quaint hotel on the top of the mountains.
We took a gondola up to the top of a mountain where the kids did a ropes course, and the adults enjoyed adult beverages.
Then we went to Florence Italy.
This was my second favorite place, Switzerland being number 1.
We shopped the leather district where we got some great deals.
We went to the Basilica and wandered the streets at night.
From there we went to Umbria & Lazio.
We toured a ceramics studio and watched them hand paint pottery.
We went to the Trevi Fountain at night and all the girls loved it because apparently a Lizzy McGuire movie was filmed there.
Next up was Vatican City & Rome.
We went to the Vatican Museums and toured the Roman Forum.
The next stop was Sorrento Italy where we swam in the Mediterranean sea!
We then traveled onto Pompeii. We toured some ruins there as well.
Then we hopped on a cruise ship for a overnight boat ride to Meteora Greece.
Our hotel there had a pool and we were in heaven because it was 101-104 degrees.
We pretty much lived in and by the pool for an entire day.
We went to the Temple of Apollo and then went on to Athens Greece.
Athens Greece was our last stop on the trip. Days 15 and 16 were spent there.
We toured the Old Temple of Athena, went to the Panathenaic stadium, and ate our best dinner here.
We also went to the Acropolis where we saw the Dionysos Theatre.
Here we found a Starbucks and just about died.
Athens had super cute clothing stores, friendly people, and like I said, Starbucks :)
That was it!
It was a whirlwind of a trip, but one that I will never forget!
I hope you enjoy the photos!
If you have made it to the bottom of this post, you are amazing! I know that was a lot of pictures!
xoxo
