~easy faux concrete pumpkins~ {DIY}

I am seriously obsessed with this look right now. I kinda want to give everything the "concrete treatment"

But lets start with pumpkins, because it's that time of year.

This is the easiest DIY, anyone can do it.
And all you need is 3 things:
{everything can be found at Lowe's}

{white work best, but I even used orange foam ones from the dollar store}

You might also want to wear gloves as this mortar mix can get on your hands and feel really gross.
Holding the pumpkin by the stem, work the mortar mix from the bottom up in one swoop, continuing all the way around the pumpkin. Set down on a protected surface and paint the stem.
Once the first coat is dry, a couple hours, move onto the second coat.
Do as many coats as you like until you get the desired look.
White pumpkins will take less coats than orange pumpkins.
You can leave the bottom plain, or once your pumpkins are dry, you can flip them over and paint on the mortar mix there as well.

And that is it! Display indoors or out.
Decorate them however you like. I used masks, but you can use feathers, rhinestones, sequins, you name it. I like to use cake stands to vary the heights in the display.

Black marble pumpkin can be found here.
Crow here.
The cake stands I used can be found here and here.
The masquerade masks can be found at the dollar tree, Goodwill in their "new" Halloween section, or if you are looking for the exact feather one, I found that here.

The ribbon I tied to one can be found here.
One of the pumpkins I simply placed in a terra cotta pot I painted black.
The art can be found here.

Let me know if you try this, I'd love to see all the different looks you come up with!
Don't forget to pin any of these images so you can reference back to it easily.

xoxo
