my favorite dark paint colors

Dark paint colors can be moody, romantic, and bold.

While I love bright white clean spaces, I love the mix of dark walls, even ceilings.

Here is my guide to my favorite dark paint colors.

Graphite is on our bedroom walls. I've used Iron Mountain in client's homes on cabinets and doors. Cheating Heart is beautiful on cabinetry as well.

But the look I am loving lately is dark ceilings!

What do you think about these looks?

This paint color is called Raccoon Fur by Benjamin Moore. It's not on my color chart, but it's one I also love.

Addison's Wonderland has a gorgeous black ceiling.
This color is Inkwell by Sherwin Williams.

Dark grey is as dramatic as black.

Country Living shared Holly Williams dark kitchen, it's absolutely stunning.
The ceiling is painted Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams.

I really want to do a dark dramatic ceiling somewhere!

free printable labels

Hello there!

Today myself, and a few other creative bloggers have put together for you some free printables to help you get and stay organized.

I myself happen to love labeling everything I can get my hands on.

One of my favorite things to do is print out pretty labels on sticker paper, which you can find right here.

Sticker paper can be used for a variety of things, but today we are making labels!

All you need to do is save the images below to your computer and then print them out. Cut out the ones you want to use and then simply peel off the backing and they are ready to use.

I made a wide variety and tried to cover most items I thought would need a label in your home.

I used mine on these glass jars. I like being able to also see what is inside the containers, which is why I like the clear glass.

Here is an example of how I used mine to store extra items in our laundry room.

Savannahs room over the years

Our daughter Savannah's room has undergone many different looks over the years.

When she was little it had a "sweets" theme.
As she grew older she went from 2 twin beds to 1 king size bed.

The walls have been pink, then chocolate brown, now light grey.

You get the picture. It's evolved over the years as she has grown.

Now that she is in her second year of college, I thought I would change it once again, just subtly, to make it more of a guest room, while still keeping it her room for when she visits.

My goal is to give it  face lift over the next couple of months, so it will be ready for her when she comes home for break at the end of March.

I will be updating it right here on my blog, and on Instagram as I go, so be sure to check back often.

But for now, here's just a few pictures I compiled of her room over the years, and decorated for Christmas too.

I hope you will follow along to see this room with a whole new look!

Friday favorites

Hello!

I am sharing this house again for Friday favorites because it is one of my all time favorite homes!

3 beauty products I am loving lately.
This is a makeup remover and cleanser all in one. It's inexpensive, comes in cute packaging, and leaves your skin feeling super smooth.

And you will never go back to another shampoo and conditioner after trying this and this. Trust me, it's soooooo good.

If you are looking for a dark statement chandelier, look no further. This one is so stylish and has so much depth to it. A real statement piece for under $1,000.

Pottery Barn's annual white sale is going on now, where you can save 20% on bedding, sheets, towels, and more. Plus free shipping with code FREESHIP.
Their Christmas items have also been marked down even further, so get a jump on next year with some of their cute holiday items!
I particularly love these-

This rug is a surprisingly good price for what you get. I love it in Sarah's home.

Wishing everyone a very happy weekend!

modern mountain style

I recently discovered Alder & Tweed and fell in love with how they style.
A lot of layers, textures, but not a ton of color.
Just my cup of tea.

Shop my picks to get this style:

A cozy down filled neutral pillow

A plaid wool pillow for that extra coziness

Leather furniture like these gorgeous dining chairs

Accessories with metal

Metal storage bins

A wool plaid throw

Statement lighting

Deep seating

Black and white art

I predict we will be seeing a lot more of this look, which I am calling the modern mountain style.
What do you think of it?

peppermint drizzle brownies

I came up with this recipe because I had leftover peppermint chips and chocolate chips from the holidays.

Homemade brownies are the best, am I right? These remind me of Christmas and Starbucks peppermint mochas all in one.

Two of my favorite things, chocolate and Starbucks.....

I hope you like these peppermint drizzle brownies as much as we do!

Pin this recipe so if you don't feel like making them now, you'll be able to find it easily later.
