~fixer upper style living room on a budget~

This post is a continuation from the dining room house I posted about.
This is the first room you walk into when entering the house.
This is the only room that their huge tv will work in, so I am trying to add that in without being an eyesore.
I think this room needs a big sectional with bleach-able slipcovers.
I like the white, but I also think the dark grey would be nice.
This one is budget friendly and still stylish.
This rug is neutral but still has a lot of play in it. I would go huge and lay it the length of the room.
I would do the same blinds as in the dining room throughout the whole downstairs for continuity.
The homeowner already has these for end tables, and I think they will work well with the look they are after. I would like to mix it up a little and add one different one on one side of the sectional like this.
The homeowner has a piece of furniture she will be using under the tv on that wall that separates the living from the dining room. However, she also wants to add in a faux fireplace, and my friend made one that I think would look amazing under the tv.
She cut books in 1/2 on a chop saw and literally glued them together.

Over the tv, the homeowner could find a large pull down vintage map to conceal it when not in use.
I have posted about this coffee table before, and I love it. It is huge. It will be too low for this sofa, so I am suggesting her adding on black industrial casters to raise the height.
These curtains are the biggest bang for your buck. You can have them hemmed if they are too long for your windows.
This is the maker of the signs for Fixer Upper. I love this one. I don't think you can have the Fixer Upper look without one of Tara's signs.
Piles of vintage books on the coffee table will add to the worn laid back look.
On the coffee table a good candle, maybe some cloches, and a tray filled with favorite magazines. If the homeowner chose to use her piece of furniture instead of the fireplace,
This would be cute in the center of it flanked by 2 lamps.
This floor lamp is amazing, love it.
What do you think?

Stay tuned, entry and a really narrow awkward back room design are on their way.
xoxo
