This week has been a week like no other. Snow, snow, and more snow. 

So I have spent a lot of time getting my retail therapy online, since I can't drive anywhere.

This table is a great price point. I am thinking about getting it for my basement actually. Stay tuned for that!

the best healthy blueberry muffins

These are possibly the best "healthy" muffins I have ever made. 

I hope you try these if you are doing the Whole 30, or are living a Paleo lifestyle. Even if you aren't, please try these, they are that good!

Most low carb, low sugar, no flour muffin recipes have always turned out flat to me. Flat in texture and flat in shape. 

But these might be the best healthy blueberry muffins I have ever tried. 

If you are looking for the ingredient Erythritol, I buy mine here. I have also used this and it tastes delicious too.

Healthy Blueberry Muffins {paleo/whole 30}

prep time: 10 minscook time: 25 minstotal time: 35 mins

ingredients:

• 2 1/2 cup Blanched almond flour
• 1/2 cup Erythritol (or any granulated sweetener) I buy mine on Amazon
• 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/3 cup Coconut oil (measured solid, then melted; can also use butter)
• 1/3 cup Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
• 3 large Egg
• 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
• 3/4 cup to 1 cup Blueberries

instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F . Line a muffin pan with liners or spray generously with coconut oil.
2. In a large bowl, stir together the almond flour, erythritol, baking powder and salt.
3. Mix in the melted coconut oil, almond milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Fold in the blueberries. Top with additional blueberries.
4. Distribute the batter evenly among the muffin cups. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

5 art solutions for large walls

I had a reader reach out asking for ideas for decorating and filling up large bare walls. I love being able to help readers come up with solutions, so let's tackle this subject shall we?

Sometimes filling up a big wall doesn't even have to be artwork related. You can fill up a portion of a large wall space with something tall and vertical such as a plant or a piece of furniture as Emily Henderson did here.

1- CLEVER FURNITURE & PLANT PLACEMENT

2- LARGE SCALE FURNITURE

Or choose a large piece of furniture to fill up a big blank space. 

3- PICTURE LEDGES OR SHELVES

Consider picture ledges to prop all your artwork up. It makes it fun to swap things out often during holidays, etc. Photo source from here. 

4- ADD PIECES WITH DIMENSION

Hang an architectural piece, or something with a lot of dimension. I love using JuJu hats for these applications. Photo source.

5- CREATE A GALLERY WALL

Gallery walls are a great way to fill up a big wall and make an impact. You can go with all black and white photos in black frames for a simple look, or go for a more eclectic look with a mix of frames, colors, and materials. 

In our living room I made a clean grid using frames just like these.

campfire cocktail recipe

I have a yummy winter cocktail recipe for you today. 

The presentation of it is so cute too, perfect for a winter gathering with friends!

It's a creamy drink that tastes like smores complete with a roasted marshmallow on top!

I like to serve with Molasses Gingersnap cookies!

Campfire Cocktail

ingredients:

• Mix 1 ounce Vodka with 2 ounces of Baileys Irish Cream, and 2 ounces of whole milk or cream in a shaker with ice. 
• Shake well.
• Line the rim of your glass with hershey's chocolate syrup and dip quickly into crushed graham cracker crumbs.
• Pour into glass and top with a roasted marshmallow.

Friday favorites

I am so excited for this weeks Friday favorites!

We have been snowed in this week and while I have been having fun playing in the snow, and cleaning and organizing my house, I spent a lot of time on the internet.

I've been browsing different blogs, looking at fun products, designing new spaces for clients, and I have some really fun things to share with you on this weeks edition of Friday favorites!

First off, I have been really surprised at the amount of high end really cool looking products from Target! 

I mean, we all love Target right? Here are some things I found that are really neat and inexpensive:

First up, this gorgeous chair with leather accents for around $160.00!

Ok, so these aren't real leather, but who cares for under $70.00 a piece!

This bar cart is stunning with its metal, wood, and leather!

These chairs might make an appearance in Savannah's room makeover:

This lamp is a beauty and has a great price tag, also at Target.

Love neutrals like me? This cozy blanket has a ton of texture and is super chic.

This coffee table has the same feel as the one I love in the Forest Modern.

Speaking of the Forest Modern, she just bought a piece of artwork that I am planning on creating in a fun hack! Stay tuned for that!

get the look of this fresh and cozy family room

I haven't done a "get the look" in a while and thought this room would be perfect. 

It's light, bright, clean, and modern.
I've scoured the web to find very similar options for you, if you like this look and would like to recreate it in your own home. 

Let's start with the colors in this room. Very neutral, very inviting. A lot of whites, creams, and greys. 

Ellie Gray by Sherwin Williams would be a great choice for the walls in this space.

This rug is almost identical to the one in the photos, however, this one looks even plusher and is wool which I love.

A clean white {or off white} sectional like this is a great match for this look:

This sofa table is a great and inexpensive choice.

A couple faux hydrangea stems in beautiful vases finish off the console table.

Tall vase,  medium vase, short vase, clear vase. 

Let's move onto the coffee table.

I love the clean lines of this one, and it's almost identical to the one in the inspiration pic.

The glass and white hour glass is one of the items on the coffee table.

Faux greenery in white pots, a stack of grey, white, and black hardcover books, a teakettle and mug. 

This floor lamp isn't an exact match, but I actually like it better!

This blanket is stylish and cozy.

A bunch of pillows like these add texture to the space and add warmth.

This one in grey or white would be a good choice:

And this one has a lot of interest and textures:

The last thing is the artwork, very simple and minimalistic.

Bellevue flip kids bathroom before and after

This kids bathroom in our flip house also doubles as the guest bathroom. It is down the hall from the kitchen.

I hope that didn't hurt your stomach.

This room you are looking at sits off the sink/vanity area. So when you walk in, you walk into the vanity hand washing area, and then beyond this door is the toilet and tub/shower. As you can see, very rough.

I don't think I have a before picture of the vanity area. Basically it had really hideous drop down fluorescent lighting, an oddly placed medicine cabinet, and a wall to wall frameless mirror. 

Bah-bye.

We were actually able to save the bathtub. A lot of elbow grease went into cleaning it up, but it saved us a lot of money and time to keep it. I removed all the old tile and in went fresh classic white subway tile.  New LVT in a grey finish went in, a new toilet, new plumbing, and a fun shower curtain. 

The front half of the bathroom got a new white vanity with brushed nickel pulls. I chose a rectangle sink because of the modern elements in the home. The light is the same one I used in the master bath.

I found the mirror at HomeGoods. It was the right size but the wrong finish, so once again, I got my spray paint out. 

Quartz counters were added in here too, new drywall, basically everything.
