~7 books I am currently reading~

Hand lettering and calligraphy has always interested me. I thought I'd get this book to help me perfect my skills.

This cookbook combines my love of my slow cooker and healthy eating with simple recipes.

Create the farmhouse you've always wanted with this great book:

This book shares how to keep your home organized and clean in 10 minutes a day.
Yes please.

This book is a great one for grads!
Will be gifting it to a few with grocery store gift cards.

And for the grads parents, I found this one helpful when Savannah went off to college last year.

I have always wanted to try my hand at knitting, so I am hoping this book will help me with that!

What's on your bookshelf?

xoxo

~camp style home finds~

I don't know if it's living on a lake, in an old home, or just the carefree days, but summer always makes me think of camp style.

Picnics, log piles, collections of thermoses, Pendleton wool blankets, brightly painted oars.
These are all some of my favorite camp style things.
I rounded up some great finds if you would like to infuse your home with this fun laid back style.

Looking for a plaid thermos with very cool colors? I love this one.

I also love the color of this vintage cooler!

I can picture this in a child's room, so cute.

Framing vintage photographs or just having them in a bowl on the coffee table are great for this style.

Camp stools are great for a number of things. I think using one next to a bathtub or sink with folded towels on it would be great.

A backpack is a must have.

Old worn and chippy painted furniture fits in perfectly with this laid back look.

This blanket is a classic.

And more stripes in this large lumbar

I love this!

Do you like this style as much as me?
xoxo

~skinny Moscow Mule recipe~

I love, love, love Moscow Mules. I actually love anything with ginger in it.
We all know summer is coming quickly, so I thought I'd take the Moscow Mule to a "lighter" version.
It is so good! I really can't tell that it is less calories which is a plus.

{pin me for future reference!}

I think Moscow Mules must be served in these mugs. But don't tell, I have been known to reuse my Starbucks venti iced beverage cups for these drinks. If you are making them for friends or for a party, please don't use those, use the real deal.
Ok, you will need a few ingredients for these.

Vodka
Ice
Limes
Mint leaves
Fun straws if you are so inclined

Fill your cup with ice. Depending on the size of your cup, add 1-2 ounces good vodka.
Add 1-2 ounces of fresh lime juice. I love lime juice so I always go for more.
Fill the rest of your mug with diet ginger beer.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lime slices.
Enjoy!

These are so refreshing and the ginger beer only has 25 calories per bottle!

~Friday favorites~

~Hello!~

If you are new to My Sweet Savannah, welcome!
Friday favorites is just a random list of things going on in my crazy mind, things I have tried, tested, and loved, or just pure randomness.
So without further adieu......

Did you watch the royal wedding? I didn't get up at the crack of dawn, but I did record it and watch it later, Loved it! Meghan looked so beautiful!

If you are looking to get the look of brass on furniture, candlesticks, etc. I have found this to be the best one. I think it gives the most realistic finish.

When did scissors become such a cute accessory?

Crazy for animal prints like me? Check out this fun pillow in this great color way.

If you are installing any sort of wall tile or back splash with an intricate pattern, go ahead and save yourself a lot of time and trouble and buy the 12x12 sheets like this one.
It will look like you spent hours and are a professional tile artist, haha.

This chair looks just like its expensive sister, but the price tag shows differently.

A very inexpensive source for linen everything.

The best place for vintage levis.

Ok, I think that is it! My brain is full and now I must go not use my brain all weekend :)

~a painted outdoor bar cart makeover~

I have a neighbor that is moving and over the last few weeks she has been putting items in a free pile by her house.
One of the coolest things I picked up is this outdoor bar cart. Isn't it fabulous? The color was just a little too orange for my liking, so once again, I got out my paint and paint brush.

This just goes to show what a little white paint can do!

~before and after~

I used Annie Sloan in Pure White for this project. It took about 3 coats but I think it was well worth it in the end.
I think it is such a versatile piece. It could be used indoors or out. I thought about putting it next to our hot tub with towels, or in our outdoor kitchen stacked with plates, bowls, and cups.
It could even work in our dining room or kitchen as a bar cart.
No matter what, it will be easy to move around with those handy wheels.

~Raili Ca Design~

I first discovered them on Instagram, and then an article popped up on Sunset Magazine with them, and it was fate. I was in love.
This article with Lonny on how to collab with your kid on a bedroom you'll both love was genius.

I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Here are a few of my favorites:

~gluten free vegan earl grey maple loaf~

Today I am sharing with you a "healthier" recipe.
Summer is coming and we all need to fit into those bathing suits, am I right?
However, if you are like me, you still crave desserts and sugary things, oh, and carbs.
Ok, so I like to eat.
Anyway, I saw this recipe and thought I'd adapt it a little and bring it to a potluck I recently attended.
Well, it was loved by all, so since it's been taste tested and approved, I thought I'd share the recipe with you.

Tuscan urn can be found here. I fill it with herbs and leave on the kitchen counter.
This round marble serving board comes in handy for so many things.

Drizzle cooled loaf with maple syrup and serve!

~Friday favorites~

This is an extra chic basket as shown in this bathroom.

I just purchased this fun download to frame by a summer bar area!
Speaking of bar carts, I am in the process of giving one I found in a free pile a face lift. I can't wait to show you!

This home tour is so fresh and welcoming.

I really want to get this book asap! I have pre-ordered it, don't forget to get your copy! I love Reese Witherspoon.

These jars are my favorite way to display summer blooms.

These are so fun and would be great in a kitchen, dining room, or on a bar cart. And I love that they are not only cute but double as storage!

Gotta love a good wedge shoe for this time of year!
I love the lace up feature on these.

Needing wedding gift ideas?
I love giving a gift that is totally custom.

The perfect tray for your kitchen.

See this great succulent garden party that my friend Jenny Keller hosted at our home.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

xoxo
